As
far as 2011 STCs are concerned it isn't as simple as a guaranteed $40 price.
We will be able to register your STC’s for installs completed after 1/1/11 and enter
them in the queue in “the clearing house or the pool of REC’s” to try and receive a fixed price of $40 per
STC. The problem with this is that the RECs/STC’s placed in the “Clearing House” are NOT be compulsorily
acquired at $40.00. They will be offered for sale to “liable parties” ie (energy retailers) at a fixed price
of $40.00 on a first-in, first-out basis. Liable parties will still have the option to acquire their STC’s to meet their
liabilities from the STC market. From 1 January, 2011 Renewable Energy Traders is planning
to offer 2 x services for the assignment and sale/payment of RECs/STC’s:
1. Lodgement of STCs into “the Clearing House” in order to try and receive a fixed
price of $40.00 per STC (payment terms will depend upon buyers acquiring your STC’s and there is NO guaranteed
payment timeframe). If at any time after your STCs have been approved and if your STCs have not been acquired at the
$40.00 price you will be able to pull your STCs out of the pool and allow Renewable Energy Traders to sell your STC’s
at the market price at that time. Some installers have been asking for a service whereby they can have better control
of the STC price they choose to sell at rather than accepting the market price “at the time” they are registered.
This service will give installers/owners control at the price level they wish to accept by either waiting in the que
for the $40 or accept the market price at a point in time which they are happy with.
2. Lodgement of STCs for approval and ultimate sale through the STC market . Processing and payment
terms will remain the same (ie between 2-4 wks) depending on ORER approval.
Fees for Renewable Energy Traders Services from 11 July, 2011 will be as follows:
1.
Lodgement and processing of a Solar PV assignment form into the “fixed
price Clearing House” - $59.95 (+GST) per Rec Assignment form + $1.00 per STC (+GST).
2. Lodgement and processing of a solar PV assignment form with the sale of RECs/STC’s at market price
as per our current service - $59.95 (+GST)per Rec Assignment form + $1.00 cents per STC (+GST)
3. Lodgement of a request to remove STCs from the “fixed price Clearing House” and sell RECs at the
market price - $29.95 (+GST) per STC assignment form.
As
per our normal conditions we do not provide a guaranteed price at the time of lodging your assignment form, but rather we
will pay you either:
1)
a wholesale REC/STC market price once your RECs/STC’s are registered and created
with ORER (Office of Renewable Energy Regulator) which usually takes around 2-4 weeks for registration and payment.
2) The fixed price of $40 per STC IF your STCs are ultimately sold through the “Clearing House”.
3)
All fees as listed above are deducted from our remittance.
